* Welcome *

I believe that one of the greatest opportunities we have in life is to work on our relationship with ourselves. Whether you are wanting to dive deeper into self-exploration, heal from traumatic experiences, manage stress, resolve interpersonal conflicts, or find healthier coping skills, I am ready to walk alongside you on this new journey. By working together, we can create a safe space where you feel seen, heard, and challenged. I work with folks to hone in on their strengths, navigate gender and sexual identities, develop new skills, heal from trauma, resolve conflicts, and overall feel more at ease with navigating all the ups and downs of being human. My hope is that you feel less alone in this process and have somewhere you can be yourself.

* My Focus *

I specialize in working with folks who struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, addiction, self-esteem and grief. I am passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ clients, folks within the BDSM/kink and poly worlds, and those living with lifelong sexually transmitted infections. I enjoy working with others to find pleasure in all facets of their lives and discover more about their identities. We will work collaboratively towards self-compassion, healing, and authenticity.

* My Approach *

I utilize theoretical pluralism to remain person-centered and value cultural humility. This means that I acknowledge that every person has different needs and there is no one fit for all. I recognize the importance of connection and community for individuals and strive to help you create these in your life. As a trauma informed therapist, I will prioritize safety and trust within our conversations. I utilize practices from dialectical behavioral therapy in order to focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. I also incorporate psychodynamic therapy to help folks better understand why they function the way they do. Additionally, I use motivational interviewing to further discover and work towards personal goals.

* My Philosophy on Therapy *

My work is grounded in the ideas of curiosity,  intersectionality, pleasure activism, and decolonization. I think therapy is an exciting chance to find out more about the wonderful person you are and have a time to take up space unapologetically. A big part of therapy is learning how to be comfortable with the uncomfortable parts of life, in a space that you feel safe in. As a therapist, I will hold space for all topics and encourage both of us to bring all parts of ourselves to therapy.

* Credentials & EXPERIENCE *

  • BA in Psychology, University of Illinois at Chicago

  • Current MSW student, University of Chicago

    Before Practical Audacity, I worked at MedVet as a veterinary social work intern. In this role, I did primarily grief and bereavement counseling with individuals, families, and groups.

* MORE ABOUT ME *

I was born and raised in Chicago, but my other home is Ireland as I am first-generation. I am a queer, trans non-binary person who loves bug taxidermy and my giant fish tank. I also live with a lifelong STI and am a survivor of sexual violence, which I believe impacts the way I work with clients. In my free time I love to create all kinds of art, recite poetry, be outdoors, or spend time with the people I love.
